Cristiano Ronaldo Scores his 50th Goal of the Year in Al-Nassr Win, Rodrygo Reacts with G.O.A.T Tweet

Cristiano Ronaldo, easily one of the greatest footballers to ever grace the planet Earth, proves once again that he is not human by scoring the most goals in a year at age 38 and tying Manchester City’s striker Erling Haaland with the most goals this year at 50!

With this spectacular G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Time) performance this year, many fans of the world of football went to Twitter to express and remind everyone who the G.O.A.T really is, especially someone in particular.

That’s right! The 22-year-old who has idolized the Portuguese scoring machine since he was young went straight to Twitter after witnessing the 38-year-old reach the 50th goal mark following his goal during the King Cup of Champions Quarter-final against Al-Shabab FC, helping Al-Nassr FC seal the deal and reach the Semi-final for the second straight year.

Rodrygo, who got the shivers after meeting Ronaldo during Los Blancos’ trip to Saudi Arabia for the Supercopa de España, showed the football community who the greatest footballer in the world is with just a simple goat emoji.

But I mean, who wouldn’t agree! El Bicho managed to score all 50 goals in 56 matches across all competitions (0.89 goals per match), making it the eighth time he’s reached the 50 goal mark in his career, all while extending his senior career goal record to 870 goals for club and country.

Like mentioned in the introduction, no one has ever scored more goals in a year than Ronaldo has at the age of 38, with only Dadá Maravilha, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Ferenc Puskás coming not even close to the Portuguese goal scorer with their under 20-goal performances at that age.

Ronaldo’s 50th Goal

Ronaldo scored the fourth goal of Tuesday’s night match by playing a smooth one-two pass with his fellow Portuguese teammate Otávio, where the #7 received the ball in the box and blasted a low-driven shot towards the bottom right corner.

In the 82nd minute, Ronaldo would then leave the pitch applauding the visiting Al-Nassr fans, thanking them for their support throughout the night and year.

Later that night Ronaldo would go on Instagram to express his remarkable achievement as well as hinting towards the possibility of scoring more goals this year:

“Great victory and thrilled to announce my 50th goal in 2023, all thanks to the unwavering support of my teammates, fans, and my family! There’s still room for a few more this year.”
