‘El Bicho’ is Set to Finish as the World’s Top Goalscorer this Year

2 min read

Following his 50th goal mark in early December, Cristiano Ronaldo, the goal-scoring maestro, has now established himself on top of this year’s scoring charts, leading the whole world with 53 goals in 58 matches at the moment.

The 38-year-old continues to impress and convince many of his G.O.A.T status after a stellar display in a 2-5 triumph over Karim Benzema’s Al-Ittihad on Tuesday night, where he bagged a brace with two crucial trips to the penalty spot.

With the two-goal performance in the books, Ronaldo has now surpassed Harry Kane’s 52 goals in 57 matches and Kylian Mbappé’s 52 goals in 53 matches, respectively.

Currently, the only one left that could potentially fight for the number one spot is Erling Haaland as Kane’s and Mbappé’s seasons are on hold until the new year. So far, Haaland has racked up a total of 50 goals in 60 matches for Manchester City. However, injuries have currently kept him away from the field, meaning that the striker will most likely miss Wednesday’s match against Everton and Man City’s last game of the year against Sheffield United.

Al-Nassr still has more Saudi Pro League action before the new year as they’re set to face off against Al-Taawoun FC on Saturday, December 30. So, don’t be surprised if El Bicho goes out for more!
