2 min read

Soon to be confirmed! Olivier Giroud and LAFC have reached a verbal agreement, according to Fabrizio Romano and The Athletic. However, no papers have been signed by the Frenchman yet.

The soon to be agreed move will see Giroud join the Los Angeles-based team this summer once his contract with AC Milan expires and after the Euro 2024 competition ends.

Giroud, 37, has starred for Grenoble, Tours, Montpellier, Arsenal, and Chelsea before moving to the Italian side AC Milan in 2021. There, the French striker has helped the Red and Blacks win the league in his first season as well as keep the team in Champions League contention so far this 2023/24 season by bagging 12 goals.

Ultimately, he’s known for his time in the Premier League, where he had the best stint in his career in Arsenal FC with 105 goals and 41 assists in 253 appearances as well as winning a Champions League and Europa League with Chelsea FC.

At the international stage, Giroud has scored 56 goals with France in 130 caps while helping them reach the World Cup twice in 2018 and 2022, defeating Croatia in 2018 and losing in 2022.

A Deadly Duo in the Making

If confirmed, LAFC fans will see the French marksman pair up with last season’s MLS Golden Boot winner Dénis Bouanga, who finished the season with 20 goals in the league and 38 goals across all competitions.
